Well, I just read a revu by this new comer Drnikita today. Before that , i was jus looking at her profile pic, which is worth looking for sure. Somehow, i didn’t expected her beauty to transfer
into paper, so i never really bothered abt reading her revu. But today, i saw her name topping the list of hot revus. So , jus out of curiosity , i read her article, and as expected it was an ’ok’ kin of read - nothing much to comment....
This led me to write down this article , as there were a few questions in my mind, that were pending for quite some time about mouthshut, and its modus operands :
· What is the criteria of selecting a revu in hot category list – is that no of hits, no of member hits, its overall rating, comments posted on it, or a combination of all of them. I guess it’s the last one, but what kin of combination works, I m still not able to u’stand. Mr. Farookh is invited here once more….
· The same applies for overall rating of revu, . Those VU, U, SU n NU ratings r tough to u’stand. Someone pls let me know, how the hell is overall rating decided. Mr. Farookh is not invited here :-)
· Also, I m not able to u’stand, how come a reputated site like this, which has so many columns for members interest – a community center altogether - n still, I vent read any clarification anywhere abt the rating system or short listed articles selection. (for hot revus). Now that’s really a pity that this site works on members contribution, but doesn’t fell to clarify something as basis as ratings, which is an obvious motivational factor for a reviewer.
I would also like to make a few suggestions for MS :
· Pls make a separate web page/column/whatever damn u call it for s’thg like ‘Go to Goa’ , I got so irritated by seeing the flooded reviews for the contest that I felt like ‘Going to Himalayas’ forever...
· Pls insure that the quality of the review is considered, and if that’s not possible then at least check , the reviews topping ur smash hit list – at times they are a terrible disappointment. Just because someone gets hits doesn’t mean that the revu is a gud one.
· Pls once in a blue moon, select s’thing human, something not-so-commercial ,as ur ‘Review of the day’ . Spare some time to select some really good food for thought articles, written by many members. I have read many gud ones, which have mostly gone unnoticed.
· Pls allow a freelance column for blog postings by members. At times, one feels like writing on a particular thing, but ends up in frustration as he cant locate the rite category for posting that stuff. And by the time MS replies that his suggestion has been added in updated MS list, enthusiasm is mostly gone. Pls u’stand that some news requires impulsive comments and cant be wished like ‘belated happy b’day’.
Its late, gona sleep now, have a feeling that I have left some points untapped, so members pls feel free to contribute.
Good nite @ IST i.e. :-)
