General Advice on CNG Kits
Nov 02, 2012 12:05 PM 11950 Views

Fixing a CNG or a LPG kit in your car is a major decision! In general when anyone thinks about LPG or CNG, the first thing that comes to ones mind is. IT DAMAGES YOUR CAR! This statement is both 100% true and yet 100% false at the same time.

Let me tell you how. The first question that people usually ask or think is, Will it suit my car?

And the answer is YES. LPG and CNG both suit every single car in this world that was ever made.

But ONLY sequential injection technology.

And whoever says that LPG damages the engine. That's false information! LPG is Liquified Petroleum Gas and is a cleaner fuel compared to Petrol. IT DOES NOT. I REPEAT. DOES NOT SPOIL ANY ENGINE. Just ensure you use the right technology and you and your car will be very happy.:-) Just dont install cheap and ordinary kits.

Just to save the initial investment a lot of people put the Open Loop or Closed loop kits, which is a horror story for any car. It uses indirect injection and connected through the air filter. For any fuel to burn oxygen has to mix with fuel and that's when it burns.

The connection of Open Loop and Closed Loop kits are given through the Air Filter Area. this means, the fuel is already mixed with air when it enters the engine manifold area and then travels to the combustion chamber of the car. So you are exposing your engine and yourself to highly inflammable ready to burn gases. I simple engine spark to could lead to a fire accident. Well now you know how those headlines about gas vehicles catching fire comes from. This is the reason.

There are a 100 different precautions to be taken while fixing Open Loop and Closed loop kits to make it safe, but how many people follow all the rules? First of all, in my opinion, no one should ever sell these kits or buy them.
