A Band-aid Won't Help

When I was young and fell down, my mother always kissed my boo boo after she had cleaned it and before she put a band-aid on.

The other day I saw a cartoon in our local newspaper. There were band-aids every place in the World where there have been wars and naturals disasters.

There were band-aides all over the map and I know we can't kiss these boo boos away and help them with a band-aid.

The icebergs are breaking away from both the north and south poles. Our cities are filled with smog and pollution. The is a big h0le in the ozone layer.

Wars are polluting the air with every bomb or gun that goes off.

We want big cars that pollute the air. Many people smoke and think it only hurts them.

So what do we do about this problem?

Recycle your trash so that the garbage dumps won't be so full. Bottles and newspapers can be crushed into sand and made into cement and wood, (this will save our rain forests that clean the air).

Ride public transit or a bike instead of driving your car.

Don't throw metal products away take them to a place that will buy them.

Freon is a hazardest waste. It can be found in older refrigerators, freezers and air-conditioners, (in your car and home). Call your utility company to find out where to take it.

Don't burn tires, throw anything you don't want into the ocean, rivers, ponds, lakes or streams.

Don't use coal to cook your food or to heat your homes.

Please bury all dead animals.

When you buy a new car consider a hybird that uses less gasoline.

Electricity is cleaner and cheaper than gasoline so consider that when you are buying new appliances.

Stop hating other people and going to war.

I'm sure that you can think of many more things and I look forward to reading you review.
