We had given our car - Suzuki SWIFT - for service and some repairs at Gem Motors Service Center located in Kondapur/Hitech City. When we got the car back, we realized that somebody had stolen the jack and the clock screwed on the dashboard. Despite follow up for more than 2 months, we are yet to get replacements. I think we have spent more on fuel and follow-up phone calls than the actual cost of the jack. It just seems so unfair that we have to buy goods from the very place from where they were actually stolen from us.
For the past one week, we have been in touch with Mr. Venkatesh, and before that with Mr. Pawan(from the body shop) for about 2 months. Every time I speak to them, I am told that they are sending somebody home with the replacement part, but nobody turns up. This looks like a scam with everybody conniving to steal from customers and sell them the same parts. If this is the level of service provided, what is the difference between an "authorised service center" and some garage in the next lane? The least we can expect is honesty and replacement of stolen parts!
This service center is making me lose the respect that I had for Maruti as a brand.
