Comfort on Wheels . Review on Garib Rath Express

I am a frequent traveller on Chandigarh to Jaipur route. Back in 2008, When I moved to Chandigarh there was no train connectivity between these two cities. I was so amused to see when there was news of starting a new train between Chandigarh and Jaipur.Initially the train launched as a Holiday Special Train thrice a week. It was a normal passenger train having all type of coaches and a great option for mostly all travelling goers like me as the train use to run on Fridays from Chandigarh and back from Jaipur on Sundays.

Later in mid of 2009 news came regarding the replacement of this train with a new Garib Rath train, I was anxious and excited by this news as at that time I have not travelled in any Garib Rath Train.Finally I could see the new train open for booking between Chandigarh to Jaipur but wait a min to my surprise it was re-scheduled from Chandigarh on Saturdays instead of Fridays.  Well I decided to book it from Jaipur to Chandigarh sector on sunday.

The time for the first impression:

From outside the color was giving an impression of being Go - Green Ambassador well nice theme and simple exteriors. After stepping inside I realize the amusing change in the history of Indian Railways I could see the births were nice, specious, clean, Ari-Condition was perfectly configured. Though side birth had three tier but still was really looking comfortable and specious.

I did not even realize when the train started moving, No jerks no sound just sleek ride. To my surprise there was an LED display was installed at the entrance of each coach which was continuously displaying the current time, name of the next station, remaining distance for next station, current train spped and some general messages.

From Comfort point of view I would say its Exceptional Travelling Experience . Facilities point of view it has a power point socket at both sides births very useful when one need to recharge their electronic devices. Also a foldable wooden tray is provided between the lower births at both side can be used for miscellaneous purposes, for having meals or small table for laptop.

Since the train starts during the night time there is no pantry in the train and if you are a hot beverage addict during travel like me you need to look for one on the stops at stations.  And coming to speed, it runs at the speed of 100+ or 80 KMPH on an average run also the speed can be monitored from the LED displays above the entrance doors which gives a new exciting experience. All I can say it’s a Comfort! on Wheel.
