Very recently Union Rail Minister Mr. Bansal made a steep hike in railways fair with a promise to ensure adequate facilities to railway passengers.Here I narrate my own case for perusal by the general public in order to see how the railway is dealing with its passengers.
I tried to reserve 2 berths in 3A in Pune Patna Exp./train no. 12149/ online on 15.12.2012 & I got one confirmed berth and another wait listed vide PNR no.8431106691.Off & on, I was regularly checking the status of wait listed accommodation which did not change at all.Meanwhile, one of my friend tried for reservation in same train on same date but when he approached the booking counter, he was told that the train no. 12149 shall not be coming to Allahabad on 09.02.13 due to Kumbh Mela.
Here it is worth mentioning that my reservation was made from Jabalpur to Allahabad on 09.02.13.
When I met my friend, he told me about this case & on hearing it I was puzzeled as I am owning the reservation as above & my friend was telling me that train shall not be arriving to Allahabad on 09.02.13.I atonce rushed to Allahabad railway station & enquired about the arrival of train no.12149 to Allahabad on 09.02.13 & I was shocked to note that this train shall not be arriving al Allahabad on 09.02.13 due to Kumbh mela.
Then I tried to seek help from 139 & I was told that no update in this regard was available with 139.Then I sent an email to irctc which was acknowledged but with no reply to my problem.Again I contacted Customer care executive, IRCTC on phone but again no satisfactory reply, then I sent an email to railwayminister, giving all the details, again no rteply, then I sent a reminder to railway minister, again no reply.
It is worth mentioning that my mobile number & email adress is with IRCTC but no care was exercised to inform me about the change as above
This is the state of affairs with railways deptt. whose minister is from CONGRESS party who quotes"Congress Ka Haath Aam Aadmi Ke Sath" which is not TRUE.
