Gangaram's the best... Review on Gangaram's - Bangalore

The best store in whole Bangalore I should say.I had been there today, and was quite impressed by the store. There are three floors in all, and all of them contain some thing or the other which you might end up buying for sure.

The first floor conatins all the stationary Items and stuff, whih you ever need. I have purchased a folder for my certificates for 330 bucks, but mind it the material is worth the money. You would find all assortments of notebooks, books, wrappers, gift items and you name it, it will be there. There is relatively lesser crowd here than other floors.

The Second floor is for Book lovers(non-technicals). And as you might have guessed I have gone berserk over the range of books they have.They have classified the books according to the Publishers and You might get the "gem" you searched for long in those old library style book shelves. Quite Impressed.I shelled out 1200 bucks on this floor. The staff working there were amazing.If you are lost searching a book, and you ask them any book by name or author and they will take you straight to the shelf where it would be. This floor is again not crowded as such(I was there on a Saturday noon) and you would find all hardcore book lovers on this floor.

The third floor is where all the tech references and scholar texts are assembled. Again they contain all the books pertaining to the field of Computers, Law, Engineering, ICSE/Other Boards texts and stuff. This floor is bit crowded and if you are a techie searching for a tech book, you might have to take help of the staff out there. The Books(especially the Computer ones) are a bit dis-organized and you would find a book you want only if you were a regular visitor to gangaram's. I had hard time searching for a book on Flash ActionScript 3, and ended up asking the staff there who headed me straight to the shelf with the ActionScript books line.

In all, I would give a 5 out of 5 to the store(Landmark @Forum scores a 3 out of 5 in my view), for it's old ambience atmosphere, it's location at the most happening place in Bangalore and the people working out there.(At first, I thought of the book bureau to be nothing from outside, an old style book shop, an old pull up lift, narrow steps to go up, white boards and decorations with hand written things on it with markers; but once you get in, you will know better.And guys, take much money or a credit card with good credit limit.You will end up buying a lot of stuff for sure!:-)}
