I've been a GE customer for years, always paid my bills on time and always paid more than the minimum. I say paid because I closed my accounts and paid them off already. I was late once because I simply forgot to pay my bill which had a balance of $230 and some change. I paid it a couple of days late when I realized it and I was charged a $25.00 late fee.
Now I understand that my terms say late fee, etc. but when you pay on time every month and more than the minimum on such a small balance, when you call and ask a bank to remove the fee, 99% of the time they agree as long as your request is within reason and your paying on time every other month. The 1% of the time they don't is when you call GE and ask them to do it. They simply say, refer to your statement and account policy. What a crock. Stay away from scam artists that want your late fee more than your business.
I will never again use any bank product from GE MONEY, GE CAPITAL, GE RETAIL or whatever they call themselves these days.
