The product I ordered was a HP printer costing Rs. 11,499.
I usually purchase my computer accessories locally, but the store I usually purchase from quoted a very high price for this item.
So, I
decided to give FutureBazaar a try despite the bad reviews here.
Since it was a high priced item and I paid by credit card, I felt I had a good chance of getting back my money through a consumer court in case things went wrong.
Also, they provided free shipping on this item and the price above included all taxes, vat, etc.
The product had a delivery time of 1-3 weeks.
It was
delivered to me just within the specified time - 21 days after I placed the order.
The courier person gave me a call and asked me what time Id be at home.
He came for the delivery about an hour after the time he said he would arrive.
I had written a few emails and made a few phone calls to them during the 3 weeks between placing the order and delivery.
On one call, the customer service respesentative had even taken a complaint for delay in processing the order.
However, all of them resulted in me being informed the order will be shipped by a particular date (a new date each time) - which it never was.
If you order from FutureBazaar, dont expect anything from the customer service representatives.
Also,
dont waste your money with phone calls as emails will also get you the same response - a new date by which the order is expected to leave the warehouse.
The impression I got was that they sit on the order till it is close to the delivery time limit and then run around to get it delivered.
The
emails were promptly replied to within 1-2 days.
Both with emails and phone calls, the representatives were very polite.
They provided an 9 month EMI option with 0% interest if I paid using an ICICI credit card.
I took that and am being charged in the proper installments - so
no problems with the payment terms.
The
website sometimes loads very slowly or not at all.
So, you might not be able to see the status of your order sometimes during the day.
In any case, my order seemed to be stuck in "Under Process" status from the time I placed the order upto a day after the item was delivered to me.
It changed to "Processed" a day after I received it - I would have at least expected it to change to Shipped once the item had been shipped from their warehouse.
So, in my opinion, the
order status mentioned against the order is completely useless.
To me, it looks like the order status doesnt reflect anything other than the time at which an employee of FutureBazaar felt the urge to modify your orders status.
The
product was packaged very well and there was no damage due to shipping.
The correct printer was shipped to me and it works fine.
In summary, expect that your order will take the full time they specify to be delivered to you or maybe more than that in case they run into problems.
Dont bother making phone calls to the customer support - emails will get you the same response and are replied to promptly (1-2 days).
The product is packaged well and they keep up the promised terms of payment.
The website could load slowly at times and simply ignore the order status as its useless.
