Full House is one of the longest running American Television sitcoms. It started in 1986 and went on to run for 8 years. Until recently many channels aired its reruns over and over again due to
its huge popularity. But currently it is off air, so I decided to write this review on my favourite show, as a tribute. Full House is a story of a single father Danny Tanner, who in order to raise his three daughters D.J, Stephanie and Michelle Tanner, takes the help of his friend Joey and brother-in-law Jesse. Danny Tanner is TV show host who is obsessed with cleanliness. Joey is the standup comedian who is master at cartoon impressions and the Casanova Jesse is an aspiring musician and a big Elvis fan. D.J.’s best friend Kimmy Gibler is an added attraction to the show playing her part of the noisy ever interfering neighbor to her best. The entire series revolve around these characters and their attempts to raise the three girls to become good human beings. The best part of the show is that there is no forced humor, the characters and situations make it all funny. The episode when Michelle is a toddler and Jesse and Joey are trying to change her diaper is hilarious. The extremely cute dialogues of these characters – “How Rude!, Duhhhhhh…….., Oh….he is hot!, Iouce Cream!, “ Cut it out!” “Have Mercy!”, “You got it dude!” leaves one in splits. D.J. attempts to share her bedroom with her younger sister and keeping the three adults at bay who are overprotective about her to Stephanie’s non-stop chattering and her driving the car to the dining room to Michelle’s first crush and efforts to become just like her sisters all provide an wholesome entertainment. Definitely not worth a miss………. The series in its own subtle ways teaches us the big lessons in life – about being a part of a family, loving them unconditionally, forgiving them and understanding them. The characterization is so strong that I often felt that they are real people and I have met them personally. If you want to watch some clean family entertainment, FULL HOUSE should definitely be on the top of the list.
