Friends to remember !
Since how long I am hooked to this TV program, I do not remember, I literally grew up with these 6 actors with lot of supporting actors, we in my home all know about the idiocyncracies
of each one of them, PERSONALITIES as one would say, even though there are no real personalities, all we see is the creation of writers and producers and makers. But still it gives a much needed pleasure to us watching his clean and nicely made serial, usually filmed in a 1 studio room labled Central Perk and few rooms in their flats.
This successful money making machine made every body attached to it millionairs, Marta Kauffman/David Carne the creators has become qualified to take long vacation in their chosen resorts of Kerala, India and except Ross Geller (David Schwimmer) every of the 6 cast members of this funny and very engaging program became well established prominent stars in Hollywood, they have solid bases now from U-Matic to Eastmancolor media. Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing) starred in many films before his friends job and now after friends he has done roles opposite Selma Haik . We all know the fate of very attractive girl Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Greene) she almost reached stardom after and during friends, I believe actually the serial producers were made to discontinue FRIENDS because all actors were getting far more lucrative contracts and works in big banner films, so it was temptation which stopped this serial, Aniston was a wife to Brad Pitt, but I think it was a bad mistake on her part to break up with Brad Pitt, she will not get a better looking husband than Brad Pitt, a person can do so much in life and after the saturation point is reached, we must settle down to a domestic life, we must not wait until the circumstances force us to make a decision. We must always remember before the big break, we had small wants and we were doing fine without big money and high fame. But it makes me sad to see once big names later on in life struggle to make the ends meet and die away with some barrage of malignant diseases. Our brains must come in use and we must become capable to say no to our burning out bodies and mind. Our bodies slide downwards in energies, once we cross forties.
Courteney Cox (Monica Geller) she had successful films after FRIENDS, scream triology, Ace ventura and many projects, what prompted the film makers to cast friends stars was to cash in on the popularity of this immensely popular TV stars, no other TV program reached the heights and penetration, this TV program achieved, I think easily every country in the world telecasted this program, that is a viewership of 70 to 80 Billion people in the world, all these people retain the images in their mind is really a high no drug can induce. Even local language subtitles make this program a delightful viewing.
Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani) I saw him in Charlie’s Angles and many other films, all these actors can never erase THE FRIENDS tag from their lives as long as they live, This TV serial not only made them, it dissolved them into itself, now all of them where ever they go will remain THE FRIENDS their life long existance on this earth.
The most good looking girl on THE FRIENDS is Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay) she had the most funny dialogues in all her episodes, she is the only one wise actor who has the brains to use the money earned wisely in her days with the program and now taking it easy with some wise investments, that is the reason we dont see her hungry and trying to remain in the public eye as much as possible and after the success of friends, she does not need to slog very hard to remain happy all her life.
Each episode was roughly 20 minutes long, I think there were over 200 episodes made, I read some place it started in 1994 and ended in 2004 a decade of entertaining is not a easy job. The creators , the actors and all connected to THE FRIENDS had a busy job for 10 years, this run is more than any sports person can have, more than any regular SUPER STAR film person can get. Guest roles on friends became a prestigious slot even for established celebrities, Tom Selleck and you name them, they did few minutes on friends. I enjoyed RAJ the Indian. This program won many awards during its 10 years run.
THE FRIENDS got merchandize to their name and what not, interviews in magazines, photo shoots everything which comes in the world of SHOW BIZ, its about time we all stop making copies of this program and start doing something as original as friends, if you lack creativity because of the tensions and your inability to loosen up, just go watch some of friends episodes to let the creative juices flow.
