It is in deed a pleasure to write about my Ikon. It was an Ikon LXI and was fitted with a 13 CD changer, pinoeer stereo set and plush leather seats. Trust me, I have been in the auto ancillary industry for more than 10 years and I can tell you quite a bit about interiors and cars. Mine was miles ahead of a lot of other cars in the segment and was a beauty. Since my wife’s native was Pondy I used to frequent to Pondy via ECR Road and it was a pleasure driving it. The best part of the vehicle was its power steering and the sturdy road grip it was giving. I used to maintain it very well and it never let me down even in the middle of the night when I used to come back alone. It could pick up the speed very easily and I was always able to compete with others and drive ahead as Ford it self does against it’s competitors. It was envied by all the drivers of my superiors and once when I went to Vellore I drove it ahead of a Sonata. I will always cherish the pleasure fo driving the Ikon which gave me an iconic status among my friends and clooeagues.
