I purchased the Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCI on 4th September,2008. Perhaps it is too early to make a complete review. However, since I am an automobile engineer and having spent more than 30 years in the industry this is a brief comment befitting to the occasion.

I hav e just completed 500 kms driving. The positive point is it has given a kmpl of 14 right from the beginning. Therefore, in due course it would behave much better.

There is visible hesitation for acceleration in the first and second gears.
The suspension as on now was observed to be a little hard, may be it will set in after another 2000 kms. Otherwise the ride and handling comfort is fine and good enough.

Incidently the boot opens by itself on bumps, may require a little more adjustment.

The engine tickover is good, though the engine noise was observed to be a little more.

Overall the performance is satisfactory.

The dealer has to devote more time for a customer at the time of delivery. The delivery has to be slotted accordingly.
