Cons:
can not trust their billing

This is my experiance at the Food world out let in HRBR Layout. I go there because it is a decent place to shop in the neighbourhood.

Normally I was not comparing the price on the packing and in the bill, as the billing is not manual.and as per the coded price labels on the packing. One day when I had bought only a few items,I found there was over charging on one item. The billed item was much higher than the price marked on the packing. When I went to the shop to complain about it, I found that the price tag on the item itself was wrong. They crossed the tag in my presense. They could not explain as to what checks they have to ensure that such things do not happen regularly. As there is every possibility that such items are sold in all their outlets at the higher price, I thought the matter is very serious.and wrote a complaint , asking for methids they have to ensure that such things do not happen regularly. There is no regular complaint book in the shop. The manager asked me to write the complaint in one of their note books. When  I enquired after a fortnight as to what action has been taken on my complaint, I was told that it has been sent to their head office. To my surprise, I found the address of their head office is neither displayed in the store not mentioned in the bills etc they issue to the public. When I asked the manager to give the telephone number of the person to whom I can complain, he gave a number with great difficulty. I could not find on the internet also any information about the ownership of this chain of stores. Though I have complained also  using the telephone number given by the store manager, nothing has happened. It looks like these stores are managed by frachisees independently and there is very little control on what happens in these stores by any centralised agency.
Today, I purchased, 2 one litre pack of "Fortune" brand Sun flower oil.with a marked price of Rs 160(for 2 litres) on the pack. As I was moving towords the counter for paying I noticed that the same item was displayed in another countr at 70Rs a litre.I just waited till they completed the billing to see how much they charge for this item. They billed me Rs 160 (I got it corrected latr on).

So If you have to go to the Food World outlets for your purchase, make it a point to check the billing. Also look around for special offers and demand to be billed at the correct price. It will not happen automatically.
