Food world stores - operate out of almost all major localities in Bangalore. I usually go to to the ones in Jayanagar - 3rd Block as well as the one on Kanakpura Road and I must say, I always come out
feeling frustrated....... They do not have fresh milk, milk in the store is usually 2 months old and when you ask for fresh milk, they say, the shelf life for the milk is 4 months. To beat that, I have seen packets of milk there that are 4+ months old and rotting from all sides.
The next basic necessity for me atleast, bread. again if you are lucky enough, you will find bread that is a day old. Ask them for fresh bread, and they tell you that the shelf life for bread is 4 days. Maybe thats why they store bread that is 3-4 days old. Why would a consumer in his right mind want to go and buy such bread. The Curd in the deep freezers is 10-12 days old, and guess what they say when you ask them for fresh curd..... There is no guarantee that you will get a coke 500ml bottle or a 2litre bottle of mineral water. The coke fridge is loaded with 100s of sprites, fantas etc but no coke, cuz someone obviously forgot to put them in the refrigerator.
Same with Mineral Water... in this heat wont people want to drink cold water? The other day what topped the experience was, I paid the bill and the cashier at the store had to return 2rs back to me which she didnt. On asking her she bluntly tells me she didnt have change so did not. I was baffled. She could have told me that and asked me to pick some candy for that amount but no. So i have totally quit shopping there based on such horrible experiences over the past 4-5 months. I have complained to the store managers about all this but nothing happens, I have called the marketing office for food world and reported this, but to no avail.
How are the stores in Koromangala and Indiranagar? Are they as bad? anyone?? I guess they should be much better considering the gentry of people staying there...
