FIVE BEST PANJABI SONGS

There is no way that i will write about just five best songs. I am simply a music-lover. As i told u earlier also that i like to listen every kind of song. About panjabi songs, they are among number one in my list of category. There are about 10 singers that i like the most. (Gurdas Maan, Harbhajan Maan, Gursewak Maan, Jazzy B, Sukhshinder Shinda) and lots more. Actuallly theer is not limit when it comes to Panjabi songs topic. Out of 500 songs how can i choose just five songs. But still after a lot of thinking i realise that not just five but i will definitely write atleast 10 songs. ’’Inna taan karam karna chahida hai ke nahin’’.

Now, here is a list of my ten panjabi songs that I love the most.

1.LORIYAN
By Harbhajan Maan

This song has been written by Babu Singh Maan. Harbhajan Maan has sung it in his album ’’Oye Hoye’’. I just love it. Well defined the role of one’s mother love, simply can’t forget this song wordings in my whole life. In the way he sungs ’’Ki unna bachiya da jeena, Lokon maran jinna diyan maawan, Ronde aaundiya paliya hathon,Tokde kho laye kawaan, Pal pal baad maaye aaye teri yaad maaye, Jithe asi saare gaunde hunda saaya baad maaye, Putar viyahe na tu, Dhiyan hathi toriyan, Kithe gayiyan maa saade hise diyan loriyan’’. It simply means ’’What’s the use of those children who are living their life without mothers, they get their food from someone else and in a very young age they lost the love of their mothers.

2.DUKHAN NU BANA KE APNA
Singer- Gurdas Maan

This song was written and sung by Gurdas Maan itself. I like to listen this song again and again. The song starts with such a heart-touching line ’’Dukhan nu bana ke apna, gal khushiyan di karda hai, vehre ch pawake kikran, Hun kandiyan toh darda hai, dukhan nu bana ke apna’’. It means after accepting the mourny days in the life now u r hoping for the Happiness. I like ’’Pagdi sambhal sohniya, pagdi sambhal sohniya, Jehdi than than teh rakhda hai, Kehdi than than teh rakhda hai, Vehre ch pawa ke kikran, hun kandiyan toh darda hai’’.


3.ASAN NU MAAN WATNA DA
Singer- Harbhajan Maan

This song among the movie of Harbhajan Maan movie ’’Jee Aaya Nu’’. The movie was excellent as it shows the real culture, customs, beliefs and value of Punjab in Canada. The picturisation were good as that of ’’Kal Ho Na Ho’’. I like this song because it truly explains true love of one person for his loved one. In foreign country by singing this song one can better show his love for his own country.
’’Asan nu maan watna da, Asi haan tere yaar pardesi, Bada hai shaan watna da, Asi haan tere yaar pardesi’’. I love ’’Asi taan pyar kar baithe, Dilo aetbaar kar naithe, Kyun akhiyan char kar baithe, Hoye dil daar pardesi’’.


4.SAAHIBAAN
Singer- Gursewak Maan

Gursewak Maan (Harbhajan Maan’s brother) was earlier a pilot. When he came to India his brother asked him to sing a song for a new album ’’Lara Lappa’’. Since then he is a successful singer and now his movie ’’Bannan brothers’’ is coming with Anupam Kher also. Will see his performance as an actor in it. This song is based on Sahibaan’s real story. ’’Aj merya veeran ne manu jiyundi maar mukana, Lah pagdi di ... mere gal vich fhawa pauna, kehda babul nu samjhaye, dushman ban gaye ambdi jaaye, tuhi samajh meriye maaye ni dhee teri jiyundi mar chali’’. Again it’s a sad song like the above mentioned songs.

5.MAA HUNDI HAI MAA
Singer Kuldeep Manak

U may not be aware of Kuldeep Manak as he too old. He is one among from the year of some 1951’s when my father was just one year old. He is superb, even Jazzy B considered him as his teacher of music. He sung more than 700 songs including kali’s also and regarded as a legend in the world of panjabi music. His cassette ’’Maa Hundi Hai Maa’’ were excellent But i love the title track most.
’’Maa hundi hai maa, Oh duniya waaliyo, Maa hai thand di chaa oh duniya waaliyo, Maa di puja rab di puja, Maa taan rab da roop hai duja’’ ’’Bachiya da dukh maa na sehndi, Gilli than teh aap hai behndi,’’. I hope if someday u wud listen it i,m sure u all will love it.

6.DAROO
Singer DCS

DCS, he is not that much famous as he is better known as Sheen. Ive heard his song (it was picturised on VJ Keith) don’t know right now. But i too have heard his other songs also like ’’Daroo’’, ’’Tainu ghul ke sharab pee jah’’ and ’’Nashe diye band botle’’. His voice is magical and his way of singing the song is also good. Do watch his video ’’Daroo’’ he was looking funny. I like this song because sukhshinder sinda was music director of this video and he gave a fabulous music. Whenever i listen this song just feels like dancing.
’’Ni mitran nu chad gayee daroo, ni seene aaj lad gayi daroo, haaye ni dil nachan nu karda, haaye ni dil tappan nu karda’’.

7.MAWAN THANDIYA CHAWAN
Singer Gurdas Maan

My father bought me ’’Gurdas Maan Nite’’ where i listen most of his songs that were unknown to me before this video cassette. All the songs were good even excellent but there were only one song that always makes me cry whenever i listen to it. It was none other than ’’Mawan thandiyan chawan, chawan kaun kare’’. I used to reverse the cassette again and again especially for this song.
I like ’’Oh mamta di maari si, Siriyan val arthi chali, jittan waale saare puttar, harran waali kaali, Putran de leyi khushiyan mangdi aap marre, Haaye mawan thandiyan chawan chawan kaun kare’’.

8.HEER
Singer Jassi

From his album ’’JUST JASSI’’ jassi sung such a beautiful track that has been sung by almost 20 or 25 singers including (India and Pakistan singers). Jassi sung it in a veri melodious and painful voice. It is well knows as warish-shah heer. The song begins with ’’Ve heer akhdi ve jogiya, juth bole, ve kaun vichade yaar milwada,’’ It was superb. Do listen it u would love to listen it again and again.


9.AKH MATKAWE AND SOHNIYE
Singer Sukhshinder Shinda

Sukhshinder shinda is a music director who always gives melodious, excellent and fabolous music not of his own albums but to other singers albums too. I saw his song first when i was in 11 standard. I picked his cassette from my friends car and then came to know about him. His song ’’Sohniye’’ oye hoye bada wadhiya si teh mainu bahut hi changa lagiya ohnu sunke. Sohniye was something like that ’’Ni sohniye, ni sohniye, ni laare laundi rehiya kari’’. His song ’’Akh matkawe’’ was also superb. I love to listen it anytime. It was somthing like that ’’Jado akh matkawe saanu sohni lagdi, jadu gut nu ghumawe saanu sohni lagdi’’.

10. MAIN TERI TU MERA
Singer Manjit Pappu

’’Main Teri tu mera, bhul na jaawin ve’’. He is not very famous as he is known only those people who loves to listen every Punjabi song. His voice is just got-gifted, nobody can sing like him. He is the best. I was not aware of his album and voice but when i heard ’’Gajrey Bolde’’ and ’’Ag lag ju paani nu’’ I was totally flatered on him. He is not good in looks by some persons but according to me he has got such a melodious who cares about his looks. He deserves the best as he sings well. If u listen his songs na then without knowing much about him u sill start admiring him for his albums.

There were some more songs but now it’s enough else i wouldn’t stop myself for writing more about panjabi songs.Friends i will back with the review ’Five worst panjabi songs’’ Will write about them as soon as possible.
