Having read all the other works of Chetan, This book is definitely not his best. This book has all the traits of chetan's books, easy language, fast pace, regular down to earth characters and not so great ending. I wouldnt expect Chetan to write flowery language with pages of descriptions about things and characters like other Indian authors do. Infact the main reason I avoid reading work by Indian Authors is the tons of boring descriptions about almost everything in the world.
Coming back to the book in review, the story is about two guys and a girl who grow up as friends together from high school. Both guys fall for same girl, and eventually one of them gets the Girl. This love story is in background of the education system in india, how coaching colleges work and how corruption is promoted in politics and various government offices.
Ending is not what you would expect, and is better than all other climaxes that Chetan wrote so far. Characters behave naturally. At times the fight between character Raghav and Gopal reminds me of Ayn Rand's Fountainhead. Readers would find themselves rooting for the bad guy at the end. Main protagonist is too ideal and is not practical in most situations.
I finished reading this book in about 3 days. Very interesting read overall, but not for readers who would look for something very intellectual.
