Books in bangalore is the best available hobby(cafes - people still reading. Well someone said pubs - obviously you are wasting the beer by reading books there).

Murthy's book store of Brigade Road - for old books sometimes new but an amazing place - you will feel enriched.
Ashish Book centre(mumbai based) always come to sell books at institution of Engineers mostly library surplus et al
Book Paradise - Jayanagar 4th block - value for money
Other places:
Crossword - good range of books.
Plus there are small shops across Avenue road/Majestic area to pick up books.
