Lets watch War on TV not in Reality!

War or Peace, I prefer peace.  I would rather just watch war on movies instead of actually having a war in reality.  I wish that the war that is going on now was over, and all terrorism would end.  I am not sure that we will ever have peace, so here is my list of war movies.

Saving Private Ryan

Tom Hanks, and Matt Damon are the two star actors in this brilliant war movie.  The movie is about a flight platoon that sets out to find a private named Ryan.  He has just been released from the war because his other two brothers who were in the military were killed during the war. The rule is that if one of your son’s dies in war the other one doesn’t have to go, or if he is already at war then he is allowed to return home.

So Tom Hanks and his platoon set out to find the missing private Ryan.  During their mission they run into some enemy fire and things begin to get heated up.  Once they find Ryan things don’t go, as they should.  Ryan learns the terrible news about his brothers, but he decided that he doesn’t want to go home.  He wants to stay and finish the fight he started with his “new” brothers his buddies he made during the war.  He doesn’t want to let them down by leaving them while under attack.  Tom agrees to this and his platoon stays and helps Ryan out.  The sad part of this movie is when Tom dies!  I really wanted to see him go home and be with his family, but it didn’t turn out that way.  This is a remarkable war movie.  I really didn’t like seeing all the death, but this was one war movie that depicted the actual events that could really take place during wartime.

Born on the 4th of July

This has Tom Cruise in it, and that is why I watched this movie the first time, just so I could see him act in a role that was so different from his normal role like (cocktails, Top Gun).  Tom is sent out to warm and has a bad experience.  When he returns he is unable to walk, so he is in a wheel chair.  He doesn’t feel like living anymore he doesn’t feel like he is a whole man.  He begins to drink and his whole life begins to change for the worse.  Then at the end things are better.  I think this movie depicts the reality that happens to a lot of men who come home from a war.  Tom done a great job in this movie.

Rambo

Sylvester Stallone doesn’t have to talk to much in this movie, all you might here from him here and there is a grunt or two, but that doesn’t matter cause his actions speak louder then his words.  Stallone is sent in to take pictures of possible POW’s that were captured during the Vietnam War!  He wasn’t to go after any of them, but once he seen there really was POW’s alive; he knew that he had to rescue them.  His commander trained him as a Green Barite and he was a fighting machine.  He was able to take on the guards and rescue the American men.  You will see Sylvester (John Rambo) was his name in the movie kick some bu*t.  I felt this was a realistic war movie because I too believe that we left hundreds of POW’s in that war over there and we never went back to get them.  To me that is shameful, and not very American!  They fought for our country, they died for our country, and our country left them down!

Missing in Action

Chuck Norris is in this movie, and he is just like Rambo was.  He was able to go into the POW camps and help rescue the men.  He was big built and tuff and he sure did know how to fight.  You can see him do his famous kick boxing moves, and karate in this movie.  I liked all the missing in action movies, and they really touched my heart.  I think Chuck done a fantastic job in this movie and the others.

Braveheart

With the actor Mel Gibson as the main man this movie was one of the best war movies I ever seen.  I guess I should have put it at the top, but this is not a list of movies from best to worse.    Mel Gibson plays the role of William Wallace he gets together with people from his towns and together they try to fight off the English.  The battle grounds are realistic, and man I wouldn’t like to fight a war in open fields like they done back in those days.  William Wallace ends up getting married in this movie, but it doesn’t take long until his wife is killed.  He then sets out to destroy those who killed her.  The ending is so sad I cried.  I didn’t realize that William was going to die in this movie.  I felt that Mel done a fantastic job here in this movie and it is one of his best movies ever!  I guess you can say he done another fantastic job in his movie the Patriot.

Honorable Mentions!

Dirty Dozen
