The scariest movie I have seen till date is the ‘Shining’ which I think is the best of Jack Nicholson. The scene in which he attacks his wife with the creepy grin saying ‘Here’s Jonnneyyy’ made me jump from chair. Closely following this would be Hichcock’s classic ‘Psycho’ with its chilling sound track, the morbid protagonist with his ‘mother’ and an ingenious plot.
I would put ‘Sixth Sense’ next in line which has the most extra ordinary twist in the ending that I have ever seen. The list of scary movies will not be complete without ‘The Omen’ and ‘The Ring’. While I would not call them classics like the first three, these movies were genuinely frightening. The scene in ‘Ring’ where the girl’s spirit crawls from the well and the scene in ‘Omen’ where the hypnotized nanny of the child hangs herself right in front of the child are enough to turn your blood cold.
