Hello everyone I'm new to Mouthshut.com I've just joined today. I hope you enjoy reading my choice of the best Hollywood horror movies ever made. I look forward to writing more reviews here at Mouthshut take care, and God bless.

Horror movies have always had a unusual, and enjoyable effect on me. I guess the dreary thought of what's going to happen next is what intrigued me, the unexpected bumps, and thumbing the loud music, and someone getting grabbed or killed when you just don't expect it to happen. And let's not for get the ugly appearances of monsters, and people that all leads to that final destination of horror.

My first choice is for the best Hollywood horror movies are:

Psycho released in 1960, and directed by the Master of Suspense Alfred Hitchcock. In this strange tale a young man is left with the family motel business after the death of his mother Norman Bates portrayed by Anthony Hopkins relives his mother's personality when he speaks in her voice, dresses in her clothes, and ultimately goes on a rampage of murders, killing woman. This brilliantly done movie is shore to send chills up your spine. There's great acting, and an excellent plot to this movie that you'll enjoy.

Asylum From Amicus studios, and Great Britain brings us this rare, and unique story of an Administrator who applies for a job at an Asylum for the criminally insane. There, he interviews patients who tell their vivid stories of murder, and insanity the chilling story of the Tailor is share to send chills up your spine. This movie has an outstanding all star British cast, along with an excellent plot.

Don't Look In the Basement released in 1973, and directed by S.F. Browning. In this story a patient of an insane Asylum takes over as the head doctor after the head doctor is murdered by a patient during a therapy session of role playing. When the patient takes over she begins a series of gruesome murders within the Asylum her final fate will shock, and scare you.

The Exorcist released in 1973, and directed by William Friedkin and based on the novel by Peter Blatty. In this movie a 12 year old girl becomes the target of evil when the Devil takes possession of her body causing her to kill people, her horrid appearance, and behavior will scare you. Don't watch this movie alone.

House on Haunted Hill released in 1958 directed by William Castle, and written by Robb White. In this delightful entertaining story a group of people are lored to the home of a Millionaire, and promised $10.000 dollars if they can survive a night of grizzly horrifying events that takes place in this house. Vincent Price in his leading role as the Millionaire gives outstanding performances.

There you have it folks this is my choice of the most outstanding horror movies of its time. I'm sure you'll enjoy these movies once you see them. Overall the acting, casting, and direction along with excellent story plots is what makes these movies enjoyable.
