Laugh Even in Memories: Best Hindi Comedies. Review on Five Best Hindi Comedy Movies

I am writing this review because many peoples here rated Mumbai Xpress as a good comedy movie, while I felt it was a sick comedy movie. Kamal Haasan could be so much ruined of creativity ...it was not possible to imagine till I watched this movie.

* I write top Hindi Comedy Movies here with a bit of details. Given the Chance, Please Watch Them. These are those movies which will leave impact over you even years after, and you may laugh while walking talking or doing somehting else and if you remembered the sceens in between! I have faced such situations many times with these movie. They are:

#1. Naram Garam*

Star cast: Uttpal Dutt, Amol Palekar, Shatrughan Sinha, Swaroop Sampat, AK hangal.

Why watch it?  It was beauty of Hrishikesh Mukerji whom I consider among the top 5 directors of Indian Cinema, to tell a story in anyway he wished, successfuly. He did expertise in showing the tragedy and irony with comedy. This is the same man who made Do Beegha Zameen and this is the same man who made Golmaal!

* Watch this movie for a love story of a poor servant played by Amol palekar, and how he manages his Master's superstitions in order to get the best out of life.

#2. Padosan*

Star cast: Kishore Kumar, Sunil Dutt, Mehmood

Watch it for.....The impeccable timing of comedy, the sense of innocence as well as wish. terrific comedy till the last clip. How a boy falls in love, how he is determined to protect his bachelorhood till the age of 27, as Hanumanji wishes, and how he struggles when he falls in love with a girl who is his padosan , how he manages to project himself as a great singer before her to win her, and finally how a simple boy is loved when everything is open! Every character has done the justice with the movie. A truely evergreen movie ..watch it if you have not yet.....Kyon Bhole?

#3. Half Ticket

Star cast: Kishor Kumar was the Leonardo Vinci. He was the most talented person, blessed with all artistic skills including paintings! This man could act smoothly, sing smoothly and even directed smoothly! I considered him as the King of Comedy, much above Jhoney Walker, etc. half ticket is with Madhubala. Here he behaves like a kid while he is in actual well developed man, suc*ing the icecream candy, saying...munnah..!

Though his all movie are excellent comedy movie but I suspect whether you get those treasured CDs anywhere or not now.

#4. Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron:

Star Cast: Ravi Vasvani, Naseerddin Shah, Om Puri and Pamkaj Kapoor.

Watch for...from the star cast you must have understood what is expected. The above said names are best ever names of National School of Drama. And when these names combined with comedy and satire specialist, Kundan Shah and Mirza, they made this movie which comments upon the democracy and socilism existing only on papers in this country which is infact like a Draupadi in the hand of Capitalists, where everything is on sale, and if you show the morale you are the most foolish person, like a dog who keeps on searching his own tail! Kut.tah Bhatak raha hai..apne dum ko hi dhoond Raha hai...a satirical song from this movie. The Mahabharata Sceen was excellent.

An extra note I would tell that I liked ravi Vasvani always more than any of his NSD counterparts including Naseer and Om Puri. He is the actor who was no less than these two but was misused and killed!

#5. Hera Pheri:

Star Cast: Paresh Rawal, Om Puri, Akshay Kumar, Tabu, Suniel Shety

Watch for..........The brilliant synchrony between the characters, and how successfulyl priyadarshan adjusted so many characters, so much confusions, and so much comedy only in those 2:30 minutes with brilliant screenplay, and balanced acting. Almost every minute of the movie is comedy and while watching this movie I got glimpse of Hrishikesh Mukerji...irony trajedy with comedy that you enjoy as well as think too!

Beside this there are other movies too which could be counted but not upto top 5!

On personal note I would say that Farukh Sheikh + Deepti Nawal + Ravi Baswani + utppal Dutt any combination created always unparalleled laug rites! have you ever seen that movie where deepti nawal's name is Miss Chamko? Or his movie with Farukh Sheikh and Leela Mishra? If not search watch and feel contended. They were terrific in combination.

Another one was Golmaal, great comedy from house of Hrishida who released more movies like Budhdha Mil Gaya, Chupke Chupke, etc.

Amitabh Bachchan's Satte Pe Satta is another hilarious comedy, with lots of funny sceens and oozing affection with comedy just like puppies sleeping together, without mother.

Naseeruddin Shah's Hero Hiralal....I enjoyed the movie a lot.

Angoor by Gulzhar where Doubles of Sanjeev Kumar and Deven Verma created the havoc!

These were the movies which gave us pure raw comedy deals! personally I did not find any comparison to them. With time the quality of movie and sense of humor both have declined, and this is what makes these movies always respected and all time best. Watch them whenever you get the time, or CD if your luck is good!
