- yun to guzar raha hai har ek pal khushi ke sath
phir bhi koi kami si hai kyo zindagi ke sath. 2
Rishtey, wafa, dosti, sab kuch to pas hai
kya bat hai pata nahi dil kyu udas hai
har lamha ek hasnsee(n) nai dil kashi ke sath
phir bhi koi kami si hai zindagi ke sath
yun to guzar raha hai….
chahat bhi hai, sukun bhi hai, dilbari bhi hai
ankhon mein khwab bhi hai, labon pe hasi bhi hai
dil ko nahi hai shikayat kisi ke sath
phir bhi koi kami si hai kyo zindagi ke sath.
yun to guzar raha hai ……
socha tha jaisa, vaisa hi jevan to hai magar
ab aur kis talash main bechain hai nazar
kudrat bhi to meherban hai darya dili ke sath
phir bhi
koi kami si hai kyon zindagi ke sath
yun to guzar raha hai har ek pal khushi ke sath
phir bhi koi kami si hai kyon zindagi ke sath
Nida Fazli has got this natural ability of expressing deep, complex human feeling in most easy and simple words and here, he does that once again. Jagjit saab had further added in deepening the feelings of the lyrics by rendering his soft and naturally melodic voice.
‘I have all the things, that are considered necessary for making a good life – plentiful money, good friends circle and supporting family. Yet, very often, I find something incomplete in me, my life. Some unknow void is there within, which constantly keeps on reminding me about the incompleteness of my life. I don’t now, what exactly is that void though….’
The ‘Don’t Know Why’ factor of this song has made this song very appealing and one of my all time favs.
- har taraf har jagah beshumar aadmi
phir bhi tanhaiyon ka shikaar aadmi
. subah se shaam tak bojh dhota hua
apni hi laash ka khud mazaar aadmi
har taraf bhaagte daudhte raaste
har taraf aadmi ka shikaar aadmi
roz jeeta hua roz marta hua
har naye din naya intezar aadmi
zindagi ka mukkaddar safar dar safar
aakhri saans tak bekaraar aadmi
This song explores the loneliness and insecurity of human nature, which we seldom acknowledge in front of others. Masterfully written by Nida Fazli, equally well sung by Jagjit Saab, this song, yet again has simple lyrics that have deep meaning.
I particularly liked the last part which means(or better say I interpret as) - we all know what’s the fate of life is going to be, yet I(the poet) am surprised to see ppl behaving so ignorantly like they are never going to die. This desperation continues until their very last breadth …
zindagi ka mukkaddar safar dar safar
aakhri saans tak bekaraar aadmi….

Baat Nikalegee To Phir Duur Talak Jaayegee
Log Bewajah Udaasee Kaa Sabab Poochhenge
Ye Bhee Poochhenge Ke Tum Itnee Pareshaan Kyoon Ho
Oongliyaan Uthengee Sookhe Huye Baalon Kee Taraf
Ek Nazar Dekhenge Guzre Huye Saalon Kee Taraf
Choodiyon Par Bhee Kai Tanz Kiye Jaayenge
Kaanpate Haathon Pe Bhee Fikre Kase Jaayenge
Log Zaalim Hain Har Ek Baat Kaa Taanaa Denge
Baaton Baaton Mein Meraa Zikr Bhee Le Aayenge
Unakee Baaton Kaa Zaraa Saa Bhee Asar Mat Lenaa
Warnaa Chehre Ke Taasur Se Samajh Jaayenge
Chaahe Kuchh Bhi Ho Sawaalaat Naa Karnaa
Unse Mere Baare Mein Koi Baat Na Karnaa Unse
Baat Nikalegii To Phir Door Talak Jaayegee ……….
I liked the presentation of the song, its like presenting the ‘bhoomika’(preface) of a joke, and then comes the punch line. Very well composed and sung by jagjit singh saab, this song has got lyrics that most of us would identify with, and I just loved the way it has been executed, …. No matter how much ppl try to provoke u, just be quite – don say nething, cause …. ‘ Baat nikalgee to fir bahut dooooorrr talak jaeagee….

Badhi Najuk Hai Yeh Manjil, Mohabat Ka Safar Hai.
Dhadak Aahista Se Aye Dil, Mohabat Ka Safar Hai.
Koi Sune Le Na Yeh Kissa, Bhaut Daar Lagta Hai.
Magar Darne Se Kya Hasil, Mohabat Ka Safar Hai.
Batana Bhi Nahi Asan, Chupana Bhi Kathin Hai.
Khudha Aksar Kadar Muskil, Mohabat Ka Safar Hai.
Ujale Dil Ke Faile Hai, Chale Ayo Na Janam
.Bahut Hi Payar Ke Kabil, Mohabat Ka Safar Hai.
A very sweet number from Jogger’s Park. Loved the way Jagjit Saab has sung it. Just listen the line ‘dharak aahista se ae dil…’ he gives feeling to each and every word of the song, making it very much soothing to ears. Also, this is one of the few songs, where he has used a lot more instruments, then is generally used in a ghazal( I guess its due to the fact that it’s a film song). And the song has turn out to be so melodious due to its effective use of guitar and other percussions, that one feels like listing to this flowing melody again and again…
- Hazaaron Khwahishain ’eisee Ke Har Khwahish Pe Dam Nikle
Bohot Nikle Mere Armaan Lekin Fir Bhee Kam Nikle
Nikalna Khuld Se Aadam Ka Sunte Aayain Hain Lekin
Bohot Be_aabru Hokar Tere Kooche Se Ham Nikle
Mohabbat Mein Naheen Hai Farq Jeene Aur Marne Kaa
Usee Ko Dekh Kar Jeete Hain Jis Kaafir Pe Dam Nikle
Khuda Ke Waaste Parda Na Kaabe Se Uthaa Zaalim
Kaheen ’eisa Na Ho Yaan Bhee Wohee Kaafir Sanam Nikle
Kahaan Maikhaane Ka Darwaaza ’ghalib’ Aur Kahaan Waaiz
Par Itana Jaante Hain Kal Wo Jaata Tha Ke Ham Nikle
Dictionay:Khuld: Paradise, Kooche: street, Kaafir: Unfaithful( lover), Maikhaane: Pub, Waaiz: Pundit(Religious Preacher).
This one is from Mirza Ghalib. In fact all of the song of this album are wonderful. This man, ghalib, was, so much of authority, in himself, that I believe that he doesn’t needs any further comment on his masterpieces.
There are lot of other good songs by Jagjit singh saab, would certainly like to revu them some time… .Meanwhile tc.
