Hi folks, I bought a UNO diesel car way back in march 2000 from sundaram motors in chennai.In all variants this was the top model and I paid a hefty 4.8lakhs on road for it. It was one of the finest diesel cars that I ever drove.
The car had an amazing pick up and used to go like any other petrol car would. I was excited driving this car on highways as it used to be a pleasant drive. The only thing that I didnt like in the car was its gear box. The gear box in the UNO is not upto the mark as the car cannot go more than 130kmph. What ever you try doing you cannot get the car cross the 130kmph mark! I have used this car mainly on the chennai-bangalore highway and one of the best and the finest road in india called the East Coast Road(ECR). On the chennai-blr highway the car returned me an excellent mileage of 22kmph with the A/c on for more than half the distance! This is indeed a very good mileage.
Even though the car has now completed 68000kms the car still returns me an excellent mileage. But to start with the cons....its the most expensive car to maintain! Every part in that car is really expensive. I have almost spent about 50000 rupees on the car till now in the last 4 months. Its really expensive maintaining this car. Otherwise its THE best car to ever drive.
