Palio or Swift. Review on Fiat Palio Multijet

I am planning to buy a car and so far I have test driven Swift VDi, Ritz VDI and Palio multijet SDX. I am looking for a diesel car and my budget is 5.5 lakhs. After having tested 3 cars, my priority is for Palio SDX. I am a big fan of mouthshut, so I would like to know from my friends here will it be worthy to go for Palio SDX as I am not keen about the resale value and plan to use this car for a long time. Lot has been said about Swift so its out of my scope for writing its pros and cons.

I would like to share my thoughts about Palio here.The car is a silent monster, the throttle response is good, there is no noise inside or outside, no vibrations. The changeover to turbocharge mode is so smooth unlike swift. The gear ratio is also better. Braking is probably the best in its class for a car minus ABS.

The car looks small from outside but has a very spacious interior.Color combination inside suits the current trend, although the dashboard can be given a new look. There is enough legroom at the front and one can get a clear view of the front from drivers seat. The quality of plastics used is second to i10. The rear space is very good it can easily fit 3 well built people, easy to get in and get out of the car even if you are tall. The fabric quality is great although they coud have used a dark shade. AC controls looked old style, sure this could have been bettered. The dashboard in dual tone gives a nice look but the slot given to fit a music system is unconventional.

I thought about Grande punto but price was a constraint. I also need info on the audio system I can fit on Palio.It has a provision for 6 speakers. How is the availability of other accessories?.

The response was good at the showroom and the sales person suggested to go for Fiat car.

The price quoted for the top end model is 553311. There is a corporate discount of Rs.6000 and a cash discount of Rs.10000.

So the end price comes to Rs.537311

I need ur advice.
