This is my second Palio which I purchased in Mangalore, around 4 months back. Earlier I owned the Sports version of it. Based on its driving experience, I decided to choose Palio again, but something with fuel economy. Thus this time I took a Top end Diesel version.

Till now, I have crossed 2500 kms approximately. But I haven't faced any drop in fuel efficiency. The mileage which I get in this vehicle is 14+ kms/litre in City and 18+ kms/litre on Highway with AC. The main thing which I liked in this vehicle is its Turbojet feature, once you cross around 45-50 kms and if the vehicle is in third gear, this car starts zooming and the smoothness at higher speeds is unmatchable in any other hatchback. You will not be able to make out the difference even if you are above 100 kms/hr. On Mangalore-Goa road, on a straight stretch of road, I was able to drive it to a speed of 145 kms/hr and accelerator was still remaining.

I believe it can cross beyond 160-170 kms/hr also on a free stretch. Its best feature, is its passenger space on front and back seats which is easily able to accommodate 5 people and ample boot space. I have taken it on rough roads also, if the vehicle is on the speed of around 40-45 kms/hr, it doesn't really care about the potholes and drive is still smooth due to its suspension. Cabin is quiet and silent and gives the safe feeling.

This car was launched around 16 years back in Europe and 10 years back in India and its still able to survive, only for its spaciousness and drive. Fiat has really worked hard on its fuel economy and smoothness of its Multijet diesel engine, which is quite apparent. For this very reason, Maruti's Swift, Swift Dezire, Ritz and Tata's Indica and Manza are using this engine to power their vehicles.

Fiat is giving 1.5 years of warranty which is for Unlimited KMs which is a value addition and if you pay 5k more this warranty is extended upto 3 years. Nowadays even Tata Dealers are giving better services, even for Fiat vehicles.

I would say this is a best value car for someone who likes power + humbleness in the vehicle.
