My Italian Babe!!!. Review on Fiat Palio Diesel

Hi All! After reading Aviv's reviews on Fiat cars, esp Palio 1.9D, thought I 'll share my experience with my babe. Well, I am a businessman, travel anything between 3000-4000 kms a month on road, air n rail apart, when finance permitted me to upgrade from my trusted 96 Zen (i still own it) went ahead and bought my dream car, a 99 Honda City 1.3EX. I did de works on it, lik free flow exhaust n K&N intake to make the performer perform mooore. I did all moves which I could n she never under performed or never ditched me. But my accountant was not happy, I covered 44000+ kms in 10 months, it was time also to claim depreciation for my balance sheet purpose I was advised to buy a new car. I found no reasons to sell my love City, but was compelled to coz it already had crossed a lakh kms n I was finding options on my 5 lakh strict budget. Me thanks to my friends 've de opportunity to drive anything from a BMW to Merc S class n wat ever I could find around, n esp after driving around in de City my egos never permitted to look anything below 5 lakh budget n I decided with my new car I am going for a diesel only. Fly By Wire ad struck me n I drove to the nearest Fiat showroom I took a test on Palio D, I just fell for it. The next week I got the delivery of my Palio 1.9D EL white. I opted for the EL version coz she was 37000 cheaper than de next ELX ver n I am de sort who is used to remote locking n never ever drives without de AC off. N I could swap the skimpy 80 profile tyres n go for 14'' alloys with 195/60/14 tubeless Michellin. (I believe in tat, I drive fast, sensibly) So she is wit me for the past 14 months, n I 'll share wat was it like. First of all, I hate the dealer, I hate the ppl der, I hate the attitude n everything everytime I had to go der. The free services n de warranty restricted kms got over in less dan 5 months, she performed well, but cut a lot on my sports feel as I had on my City, but driving around was fun, had enough torque n punch to take on even de City on the highway. I was impressed. I had done all possible additions like all works music system, leathers etc. Den came de real thing she wanted. First I changed de intake to K&N, only slight improvement, not very noticable on de diesel, unlike de difff I felt on my City, but that was fitted on with K&N extreme, unfortunately its not avail for the Palio D. Moto freaks should be seeing the ad of Pete's performance products in Overdrive n AutoCar n all, happens to be my good friend, Mr. Peter Chacko, who is very close to Mr. Leela Krishnan, 7 times national rally champion n trusted tuner for MRF n JK. Who is who of rallying n racing is there in Leela Auto House... It was a dream come true to be there. Well, I was after Peter to make him fit the Petes Performance Box on my car, but I was told it was not available for Palio. So we took the car to LAH, parked it next to Naren's baleno, Vikram Mathais Esteem n name it who's who of rallying all over India would 've visited dis fantastic garage atleast once. I told LeelaJi I need more from my car, so he advised to make the exhaust free flow. Man, it did wonders. Atleast 30 kgs of unwanted gas re-circulation stuffs were removed (who cares about emission control) n a straight aluminium free flow was fitted. The moment the car was started, man I was thrilled, the pure sound of the exhaust, it was music to me. Every head turns when my car passes by... Girls, dey love it, just love it. N I was impressed not by the tune, but how the performance increased. The work done by LeelaJi is de heights a car can get. Surprisingly no drop in fuel consumption in normal driving, but u want to impress de girls, surely der is a marginal drop. Thannx all for the patience in going on through my exotic experience wit my babe, n dis is an enthu's car. 've de patience wen some thing goes wrong, its bound to happen, n de dealer 'll never 've stocks of any any parts, 'll take maybe if lucky weeks to get de same, so find a local trust worthy garage n a trust worthy spares dealer who 'll supply spares from anywhere available at a Premium (I live in cochin, Kerala) This whole package makes my Palio experience to me I LOVE U BABY!!!
