My Linea is the third Fiat product owned since Premier Padmini and Palio Sports. Frankly I used to dismayed with the 2002-Palio(Petrol) for poor mileage and heavy handling but adored it for its sturdiness. Linea was a beautiful car I always liked but didn't have the liking to go for another Fiat product for its sheer low resale value and muted acclaim. After test drives on Hyundai i20 and Honda- City, Jazz and the Vento, I wasn't really happy with the leg space and the quality of drive which was grumbling. I just visited the then Tata showroom, was nicely explained about the features, test driven and discounts which drew my interests whereby I finally bought Linea 1.3 Multijet Diesel Oct 2011. Today after 5 years and 43k Kms driven I am still a happy customer and my family too likes the Linea's safety. the Turbo-Power generated at the press of accelerator gives you a thunderous push like no other car would offer. My life saved many times while overtaking and most recently on Mumbai-Kolhapur highway which encouraged met to write this review. So happened that at split second the car managed to propel itself out of the likely massive accident situation and zoomed off. Thank you Linea.
Through the 5 years I have regularly serviced and maintained the car at Fiat Workshops(Torrid Motors) only, can't rely on roadside garages who lack computerised equipements that are needed to diagnose modern cars. Can proudly say the car is still as good as new and eyeballs turn around in amaze. Overall Fuel efficiency in Mumbai depends on traffic condition. Light traffic- 14.8, Heavy traffic 12-13, Highways 16-17.
I am looking for replacements however can't find any equivalents for this beauty-beast.
