Kolkatay Feluda (Feluda in Kolkata)

Satyajit Ray

The classic tales of our very own Bengali sleuth created by the master writer himself, have been published in various packages for a while. And Kolkatay Feluda is the result of one of these packages.

The book features 9 cases of Feluda, all of which happen right in his home town of Kolkata. The stories cover almost his entire career, like Kailash Chowdhuryr pathor (Kailash Chowdhury's precious stone) when he was just a beginner and had just printed his visiting cards, to Dr. Munshir diary (Dr. Munshi's Diary) when he was a famous name in the detective scenario. The cases are also varied, from the strange twists and turns of Seyal Debota Rahashya (The mystery of the Jackal-god) and Ambar Sen antardhan rahasya (The disappearance of Ambar Sen) to the complicated plot and adventurous ending of Bosepukure Khunkharapi (Murders in Bosepukur), to the sad and melancholy conclusions of Golokdham Rahasya (Mystery of Golokdham). Indrajal Rahasya (The mystery of Magic) has been printed in paperback for the first time in this collection. Apsara Theaterer Mamla (The case of Apsara Theater) is an interesting read as we see Lalmohan Ganguly a.k.a. Jaytayu step into the shoes of a detective due to an injury caused to Feluda by an accident.

The star attraction and best story of this collection would undoubtedly be Gorosthane Sabdhan (Beware of the cemetery), a long story winding down the streets of Kolkata in Jatayu's new Mark 2 ambassador. The ending is amazing, and the story is extremely gripping. A must read.

Overall, all the story have the Ray touch that make them 'Unputdownable' and are amazing. For all book lovers, Bengali and Non-Bengali, get yourself a copy and immerse yourself in the streets of Kolkata.
