After hearing my friends swear by a mysterious man called Tolkien, I decided to embark upon this epic adventure, and boy am I glad I did!!

The journey I embarked upon took me through landscapes
so unique, yet so familiar. The description of lifestyles, ethics, cultures(and the inevitable culture clashes) of each society that I came across strengthened my resolve to delve fyrther into the lifestyles of these people.

One facet of the saga I found absolutely unique was that the stories of Tolkien are never isolated tales with no linking threads between them. The story is reads more like a complete history of the civilisation with each adventure playing but a small part in the rich and varied tapestry that is Middle earth...
One word of caution though... the story has to be read in its entirity, The Lord of the Rings would seem to be the rambplings of a madman if not for the history behind it explained in The Silmarillion and the Hobbit.

Would be adventurers are advised to let the story grip them slowly, this is not a book for people who need to see high voltage drama.Let the story grip you and believe me, once it has, it wont let go.
