The ''Fellowship of the Ring '' cannot be described in a few words. J.R.R.Tolkien has created a mythical world, but the writing is so natural and believable, it instantaneously transports the reader to Middle Earth. It makes one wish to explore it, and hardly anyone is satisfied with what the book contains , and wants more.
The journey of the hobbit Frodo Baggins from the Shire to Rivendell has been very well described. I feel that the character of Strider is really exceptional. All the different types of free people , Elves, Dwarves and Men have been described in great detail.
My favourite part of the story is the portion from the pt when the Fellowship stands before the Hollin Gate of Moria to Gandalf's fall from the Bridge of Khazad - dum. With the threat of Mordor constantly in the background, the incident really makes the reader despair.
This book is comparable to the best of mythology ever written, anywhere.
