“A memory is a photograph taken by the heart to make a special moment last forever.”I have taken some very special and sweet photographs by my heart and here
I would like to share some of those snaps from my collection. Childhood memories are such beautiful feelings, which can enthuse anyone. It’s something, which puts smile on your face and you crave to go back in those lovely days. There’s a very nice “Bhojpuri” song written for this situation.
“Kahwa gail ladikaiyan ho tani humke bata da,
hum ta padi tohri paiyan ho tani humke bata da”.
It means
“Please tell me where my childhood has gone, I beg you please tell me where my childhood has gone.” It’s a lovely song, which drags you back into your childhood days. I know it’s not possible to go back into your sweet childhood days again, but you can definitely cheer your life with those lovely memories.
I was around 5-6: When I was a small child and was not able to read, my grandfather used to tell me the stories from “Panchtantra”, “Ramayana”, “Mahabharata”, “Bhagwat Gita”, “Vedas” and from other religious and mythological books. So, those were my favorite books that time. The stories and their lessons are still breathing in my mind. I guess this is the power of those stories, which helped me to succeed in my every endeavor till now and I hope it will empower me in future as well. My grandfather still tells me lots of stories whenever I go to my village.
I was around 7-8: When I became 7-8 years old, I was able to read and my grandfather started teaching me academic books as well as some literature books. I have very faint memories of those days. My grandfather used to teach us in a raw house near to our farms. I used to go there in the evening. But I always waited for “Rita” (name changed) to start my study. I used to say, “I won’t start studying until she comes”. She is married now but still whenever I visit my village, people use to tease me. They say,
“ab padhai kaise hola babu, ab ta ritwa naikhe nu unha”. It means,
“Now if Rita is not there, how do you study my son.” In those childhood classes I learned basic mathematics, literature and I got to know how to complete you assignments in given time. I always cherish my first experience with an academic class.
I was around 10-12: When I became a little young, I started going proper schools. I started learning subjects by my own interest. Mathematics and History were my favorite subjects that time. To be very specific geometry was something, which always drew my attention. In those days I spent lots of my time in playing with those lines, circles, rectangles and squares. I remember I used to solve deduction given in BSC (Banking Services Conical). BSC was a regular coming magazine for us as my uncle was preparing for Bank PO. In history I always loved reading the heroic bravery of different legends like “Shivaji”, “Maharana Pratap”, “Puru”, “Vikrmaditya” and “Ashoka”. I used to read their unique way to govern, and their strategic planning to confront enemies.
I was around 12-13: When this village boy became little urban, he started reading some other books as well like “Cricket Samrat”, “Nandan”, “Champak”, “Nanhe Samrat” and many more. Some comics had also dragged my attention. My favorite hero was of course “super commando dhruwa” but I liked some other comics heroes as well like “Nagraj”, “Chacha Chaudhary”. But I guess that was a fad and didn’t last longer. Cricket was my craze so “Cricket Samrat” I continued for few more years.
When I look back into my childhood days, I was not much studious, but yes I read few books that I will always cherish. Childhood education is a foundation for a person. It decides your destiny and builds your character. Some of my favorite childhood books will be:
Panchatantra : It has different stories, which is interesting and it gives a strong message as well.
Bhagwat Gita: It is the most respectable book for Hindus and it has great lessons, which are applicable for everyone.
My History Book: It has all the information about our past civilization and culture. It inspires you to do something great.
My Mathematics Book: It teaches to understand the complexity behind any problem and helps to be logically strong.
Childhood memories are endless and it’s very close to every person. I would like to thank MS, for giving us this opportunity to recall our childhood days.
Thanks for reading my childhood memories, please put some comments here ...
