The earliest memory i had of reading a Roald Dahl book was curled up in a corner of my countrys national library when i was five or six and later getting scolded by my mother because she couldnt
find me in the big library.
Roald Dahl was a bringer of dreams, that was how my aunt used to describe him. his books are fascinating and even till today, i have yet to grow tired reading them. i have a huge collection of Roald Dahls books and theyre still in good conditoon till today.
My favourite is
The BFG. The Big Friendly Giant is a runt compared to other giants but hes different than all the giants who eat children and are generally mean bad tempered creatures. The BFG has a facinating job, he collects dreams and dispense them to children around the world. This book follows him on his journey with his friend to help convince the queen that they need to stop the other giants to stop eating the children of the world.
Theres the other very famous book by Roald Dahl
James and The Giant Peach about James who was mistreated by his aunts and always longed to go to New York and finally managed to do so with a bunch of oversized insects in a huge peach. Lovely book that one, and it made me a fan of peaches to this day.
Hmm... my other favourite Roald Dahls (and are all part of my collection) books are
Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Charlie and the Glass Elevator, Danny, The Champion of the World, The Witches, Boy, Going Solo, The Twits, The Enormous Crocodile, The Magic Finger and The Girrafe, The Pelly and me.The thing about Roald Dahls books are definately his wicked sense of humour, his innocent way of looking at things and his overall fascination with children. Reading his books makes me feel on top of the world.
Get your children to read his books and read them yourself.... They make your childhood memorable, whether youre still a child or not. (,)
