Knowledge sows its mighty seed when you are young , ever since humans have evolved in their Literary achievements, there has always been a source to read , to let the knowledge seep into oneself and improve
ones knowledge. After the Chinese invented paper and when paper became most popular there have been millions and millions of books for people to reach. With such abundance and thereafter the increase in technology the child loses the habit of reading , and there are many books earmarked for children to help them soak into the habit of Reading.

I shall take you through my childhood in terms of the books I read …

Toddler

Oh the naivety of childhood, the beauty of it , the ignorance , the affection !!! This would be by far the best part of our lives where we lived our life as we wanted it. Here I was filled with various books teaching me the basics of ABC and other basic things that relate to our life like fruits and vegetables and flowers.

Preteen Years

The age of Curiosity , Mummy why do we have rain ? Why is the sun round and why not square ?. Now I learnt to read and did I read !!! , well my favorites here were some very famous comics published in India ’’Tinkle’’ , I cannot forget Chamataka and Kaalia and but of course our dear Suppandi !!! , more than stories it also spoke of Human values. Then comes ’’Amar Chitra Katha’’ , India has a vast cauldron of mythology built in and every Indian is awestruck and is sure to read. All these stories have the perfect blend of myth, religion, adventure and moral values one must follow.

This age was also the age of heroes , of fight of fun and adventure , here spent each of my day with Phantom in his Tree house beyond the waterfall and Guran - his trusted pygmy. I entered the world of Magic with Mandrake and learned the power of strength by his friend Lothar. I lived my life through these comics … oh those days !!!

The Teen Age

The age of Stubbornness , the age of argument of that feeling that only you are right !!! Here I loved the Archies, with his topsy turvy life, the Hamburger lover jughead and Big Ethel who was always behind him. Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge and but of course the ’’ I Love myself’’ Mr Reggie Mantle. I used to thrive on these comics … I guess they can never out out of fashion.

In this age of excitement , I read the stories of Frank and Joe Hardy , I must have read almost all the books of ’’Hardy Boys’’ , the thrill of adventure , the thugs , the chase. I also loved the fat Jupiter Jones , Pete Andrews and Bob - ’’The Three Investigators’’ by Alfred Hitchcock . It was the example of one of the best thriller novels for Teenagers, it was awesome !!! I also enjoyed Enid Blyton and the Secret Seven , great books !!! Here I also loved Tintin and Billions of Blistering Barnacles Captain Haddock. I also used to like Vitalstatistix, Asterix, Obelix and Cacofonix. Here is where my fascination for civilization sowed it seeds, I loved the Gaul village and the vast empire of Rome !!!

Well I have taken you through the innocent journey of Childhood and the books that supported me during all those days !!! I am still a Child at heart and do read all these books whenever I get the time.
