Pros:
Anyone can go to Narnia ,just by reading the books
Cons:
Sadly the author has died and we will never have new Narnian novels

Favourite Books Of Childhood

In the 1970’s to be poor was almost unheard of in England.
Most of my books were from jumble sales and highly treasured.
Many of my friends would produce the latest fad toy or fashion accessories

and I had my books.
My favourite were the Narnia books by C.S.Lewis because they involved quite ordinary children who had adventures in a magical world which could be reached in quite ordinary ways ,for instance by climbing into the wardrobe in one book,by looking at a picture of a ship at sea in another.
One could argue that the adventures were the childrens imaginations carrying them away.
I did not realise at the time that these books were written by a theologian and so were closely related to religeon.
My interest was merely in the wonderful land of Narnia with its talking animals both good and bad,the children, not always the same children, not always a lucky situation, the evil witch/queen .
Good always won through in the end ,as I hoped it would.
I especially enjoyed the character Aslan the Lion ,he was the champion ,the king ,the magical benevolent presence .
My own wardrobe was large and dark and I did stand in it a few times just to check .
Sadly I never got to Narnia that way but every time I read and reread my Narnia books ,I was transported there once more.
