I may not be old, but reading the reviews I definitely feel it! Harry Potter is what my children read. I think god for Harry Potter, it inspired my eldest son to read and he went on to the Lord of the Rings, which he is doing his extended essay for IB on.
I enjoyed Enid Blyton, I loved the famous five, the boarding school etc. None of the television shows could match up to the books. I look forward to watching them.
I then enjoyed Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew. Now I enjoy Dr Scarpetta novels. Also John Grisham, although his last two have been disappointing, has he lost his touch or got writers block.
When I was a child our Christmas stockings always had annuals in them. So we were always encouraged to read. Nowadays reading is a lost art.
