Model is cool but not for a marriage material!. Review on Fashion

I watched this movie twice at home with my partner. First of all, I didn' think it would be that fun when the DVDvalla in Bahurat has suggested this movie because I said "Give me anything that has Priyanka on it)

The good thing is the entire movie did not film outside India. I like it. Second, there are 3 main leaders so it's a kind of non-binarism thing to watch.

Suddenly, I said I have dated 2 models before I met my partner( One is a Columbian national and the other one is Asian American, too ambitious type, barely understand thai, being adopted by white parents and just got back here 2.5 years).

I have read somewhere today that there gonna have"Fashion 2" soon about designer's life. I am so excited to see it.

The movie is watchable for kids above 13 but please forgive me if it sounds bad to say that being a model is so cool because they are not for the marriage material even though they are not cheating but these people are very very busy with their unexpected shedule, Possible relocation. I do not want to repeat the sterotype but the whole point is their works comsume their lifes, and of course people are gossiping. Model surely have a lot people that they know but not many people that they can say "friends". Shonali and Megnah have been kicked in less than 5 minutesd when their daddy fed up with them.

Being admired by others is good but shouldn't you be happy from your inner self as well? Do you think people really like shonali when she's late and arrogant.

There are a lot Gay men portrayed in this movie; designers, hairdressers, make up artists, organizers even the Gay models themselves. I would say that this is the first Hindi movie that I saw such a lot of gay men.Is that OK to be Gay in Mumbai and Indian society is more open and accepting? as most Gay media in this world said it is quite hard to be Gay in India.

Who I should believe then?

In the story, Mehnah wins some beauty contest in her hometown. Then, she wanna move ahead to be the supermodel. Little by little, she learnt how the industry is. In the movie, Mehnah's parents and aunty are not quite happy with what she is doing. I am in India so I do not know if this attitude is realistic or not. I saw Sunsilk ad in the movie, it might be the only one international brand in the movie. I do not know if the designers brand in the movie is real or not.

In Thailand, everybody like Fashion.One of our young princesses just received a degree in Fashion design from Chula! Wow!

we do have the Thailand supermodel contest, a kind of reality show. Personally, I think beauty contest activities are quite superficial. Unfortunately, the Thais love beauty contest so much. Even in America, they have Miss thida Isaan, Miss thida dome, and I believe they will do anything to send their daughters for the Miss Asian stuff contest. The funny things is Thai's fashion models are not likely to be white. Most of times, they are half-European, Hispanic or those who have East Asian look. Thai designers have a myth that white people do not have a good skin.

Most famous cream commercial is Garnier!

If you're Thai, statistically, you need to be the University's star or just came back from America and win some sort of Miss Thailand world or Miss Thailand universe or something.

Basicly, you need to be smart as well in order to remain in the industry, at least you should know how to behave.

However, If you're so handsome or beautiful, and you need a serious relationship. I would suggest that you should do model things seasonally. For this movie, I really shonali(Kangna herself came from Chandigarh, how funny). I think she has a fun character. I paid no attention to her clothes but her posture. She was a bit jealous. But from the beginning, I do not think she has pick a fight with Megnah.

I don't know why somebody wrote that they are enemy. Before ending Mehnah has tried to help Sonali to regain her strength, so deep inside she wasn't a bad person she just played along with what she had to do.

The movie does not suggest that being model is bad. At the end, Mehnah, like a phoenix with a miracle rebirth, moved to Paris. Janet's life seems to be Ok and most sustainable. The thing is to be successful, sometimes you might have to walk alone.

I love the end because it shows that there are a lot of untold stories before someone has a chance to be on the stage. For love and success, sometimes you need to bargain and be compromise. Tree grows with deep and strong root otherwise it can be blow away with a wind!
