We visited this e-Zone store since its so prominently located in Koramangala and we live pretty close to it. Unfortunately, beyond the location and the actual shelf-ware on the store, the experience is
something to absolutely stay away from. I really wish Id seen all these reviews and would have never shopped here. I am hopeful others will not make the same mistake as I did.
We were in terested in buying a high end LCD TV (40") and a smaller bedroom TV. We had some ideas in mind and talked to the Manager and his staff in the TV department. We picked an LG 42" LCD TV (2RR, with time machine built-in. Sort of like a DVR) and another smaller "regular" TV for the Bedroom. So far, so good. As usual, the LCD TV was delayed by several days from the promised date of delivery. Nothing earth shattering.
Unfortunately the day it delivered is when the nightmare began. The TV (almost Rs 100,000/-) had terrible quality the DAY it landed at our place. I told the LG service technician about the quality of the TV and he felt the same way. I immediately called e-Zone and told them that the quality was far from good. They were like, let me send a technician to your place right away. Sweet, indeed. Little did I know that they cared two hoots about this. Literally 3-4 phone calls PER day from for 5 days and still no one shows up. I threaten to take them to Consumer court and then someone shows up from the store the next day. The saga transpired over two months now. First, they said that the cable quality is bad and hence the TV experience is lousy. I get Digital cable - they then say that Digital cable is bad so I should get Tata Sky. I buy a brand new DVD player with HDMI output and a high end HDMI cable and use 3-4 different DVDs on this setup. Now, GET THIS, they say that the quality of my DVDS - Finding Nemo, Analyze This, Bheja Fry, etc. - things that Ive had and used before is bad. Now, because, this is not going anywhere they say I must go deal with LG. I esscalate the problem and speak to the Store Manager for the whole store. He gives me kind words but nothing happens for weeks. I physically show up at the store and try talking to them but again to no avail....
Sadly, Ive been a big LG fan and been dealing with them seperately without much success. Theyve promised to replace it but obviously nothing has happened. For such a high end TV, from a presitigious store in Indias Silicon Valley, if this is the level of customer service, we have a LONG long way to go. Once Walmart, Target, Metro and other retailers get to India the likes of this e-Zone in Koramangala will be finished.
