'CheatZone': Lies,Lethargy and Expensive

I generally do not write reviews, but I am so pissed off that I had to share my experience with you guys.


I had visited the Bangalore, Phoenix Market City E-zone branch on the 21st of December and enquired about the Google Nexus 5 mobile phone and the iphone 5, at first they were very courteous, they said that the phone was not available with them at the moment but would be available within the end of the week and had brainwashed(ya, I was so naive) and they also tried to push a worn out iphone 5 demo piece to me for Rs.34k, but I went with the Nexus 5 because it was new and the reviews were great.


They also told me about the ongoing HDFC offer, i.e. a 5% cash back offer and it was valid for a few days and I had made the payment


And they also promised the phone would be delivered latest by 30th of December and there are strong chances that it would be delivered by 27th December as a consignment was in-transit, I had made it clear that if the product isn't available by 30th December, that I would cancel the order.


I had made the payment, they gave me an bill and a ezone care number+91-9223322999 and in that bill the store number was not mentioned, it was a shitty bill with useless details which you would probably get in Grocery stores.


I was eager and on 27th I had made a call to the ezone phoenix market city branch by finding their number on the ezone website, the number was busy 24*7( The truth is, the number does not work), I called the store manager's number, the number was not reachable, I called the ezone customer care number, the executive who answered gave me a wrong number stating that the order is being processed.


I called the store manager by name V.Kumar, who attended the call but switched it off the call.


28th December, I got fed up and called the another store and got the number for Ezone Bangalore head office, they connected me to Mr.Kumar, the store manager who gave me a reason that the phone was out of charge and some other bullshit. I made it clear that if I did not receive the Mobile phone on 30th Dec 2013, I would cancel my order, he assured that the phone would get delivered and said not to worry and used to signature line "Teek hai".


30th December, I was waiting for the phone for so long till evening, called Mr.Kumar, asusual the phone was switched off, and somehow by contacting other branches, I was able to get a hold of him, he said that the stock had not arrived and I asked him to cancel the order. He asked me send the details like credit card number, SO number etc through sms.


Later, a person named Venugopal sent me an sms asking for details like mail id, I called him and this person started talking to me like he was some kind of a big shot, literally the guy was talking smack, asking me to wait and that the money cannot be refunded etc.


He sent a mail to my mail id stating the product "will be" IN-TRANSIT soon. I got really pissed off and sent a mail to Kumar and asked him to cancel the order asap. Kumar reverted with his signature words "Teek Hai SIr". I even sent him a formal mail.


31st December 2013: I received a call from some guy named Venkat who the head of Operations for Ezone and he was trying to push the product to me, and asked me to wait for a week stating the refund would take 7 working days and by that time the phone would reach to you, the guys was trying to literally force the product to me. I was stubborn and asked him to refund the entire amount.


Again later that evening, Kumar had called me and was insisting me to wait, but I declined and later on they some how succumbed.


It has been 3 days, so far no update on my refund nor has there been, any replies to my mail.


EZONE TEAM: Please close your stores and stop cheating people, It would make the retail industry a better place. Please don't make false promises, and also teach your employees basic telephone etiquette and last but not least, hire competent, potent staff.
