Update (Mar 07, 2008): Read the full review below. I eventually got the refund from ezeego1. They were apological for the trouble
and all. With that, would I deal with them again? No way! Why? Because I am still not convinced about their customer care (or lack of it). I consider myself plain lucky that they decided to react after my crying foul everywhere. Even after they did contact me, they still could not track any of my numerous complaints. No matter what lucrative offers they come up with, stay away from Ezeego1, thats it!
What to do if you find yourself in a similar situation?
AFAIK, there are a few avenues for a customer who has used a credit card to book tickets through ezeego1. You may lodge a complaint with your credit card company. If the payment was successful, the credit card company would ask you to contact the merchant (ezeego1). You can tell the card company that you are not getting any response from the merchant and specifically ask the card company to initiate a
transaction dispute procedure. The card company will give you a reference number and ask you to post/fax a written complaint. Be aware that this is a time consuming procedure and the merchant is also asked to file a reply to this complaint and eventually the dispute is resolved (I dont know how, anyone knowing this, please enlighten me).
You may also try the consumer court, preferably if you combine with other victims. The consumer courts, I heard, are more prompt with batches of complaints regarding the same company.
Original Review:
Forget cash backs, its impossible to get refunds for failed transactions, which is completely their fault!
I repent not having checked mouthshut review before booking tickets through ezeego. I tried booking a flight ticket on 20th December, the transaction failed after making payment through ICICI credit card, and I am still waiting for refund (3 weeks since). I talked to their customer service 4 times and mailed a complaint thrice. On phone, everytime I got to hear different explanation with a new promise. First time, they promised to refund within 7 days automatically. On the next call, they promised refund within 72 hours, and on the last occassion, they asked me to file a cancellation request for a booking that did not materialize! And they refused to let me talk to someone senior.
Over email its another story- a new trouble ticket number is provided everytime you send them email, and then they conveniently forget about it!
I guess many ICICI card holders have fallen for this fraud because it was advertised through ICICI card statement. Should ICICI not varify the credentials of such dubious companies before advertising through their statements?
