I booked a vacation package through expedia months ago. Today, 4 days from my flight, I have been contacted by Expedia 3 times telling me of flight changes. I was directed to take my new confirmation email
directly to the airport (a 40 minute drive) and asked to be rebooked according to the details of the email. I did so. The changes were significant. The flight was now 4 hours sooner than I had expected to fly and was on a totally different airline. I took the email to the ticket counter of the new airline and asked to be rebooked. They would be happy to do so for a fee in excess of $500! Why should this cost me a cent? I did not request changes and do not want changes. At this point, I dont know if I have tickets or not. Customer service is clueless. I have been told all sorts of things by all sorts of people. Please, think twice before booking through Expedia. If you cannot trust your travel agent to handle the small things correctly, what makes you think they will be there for you in the event of a major thing?
