I made hotel reservations 1 mile from where we were going to be showing our horses. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told that they were overbooked and subsequently transferred to another hotel 25
MILES away from our location.
We were exhausted and just wanted to get clean and to bed. It was a busy weekend and all the local hotels had already been booked up. There was no choice but to drive to the second hotel.
I called the hotel manager on Monday, and she explained that they notified expedia to discontinue booking their location for this busy holiday weekend. When I called
Expedia to complain about our troubles, there wasnt any concern for our inconveniences. They would not take any responsibility for the mess up, either verbally or monetarily.
Another thing that was of concern was the fact that they denied charging my credit card or that they were responsible for the room rate on that charge. (The hotel in BFE should have charged a lesser rate than the first mid-town location.)
My credit card was charged the day I made the reservation - by Expedia! After an hour on the phone back and forth, all the would offer is a certificate for future use. Yeah right. I think they are playing games and trying to wear people out when they call in a complaint. The lack of concern for customer service is appalling.
I WOULD WARN ANYONE AGAINST USING EXPEDIAS SERVICES. IF THERE HAPPENS TO BE A PROBLEM REQUIRING A REFUND THEY WILL MAKE YOU WAIT 30 DAYS FOR YOUR MONEY BACK.
In the future I will do nothing else but call the hotels directly. I have never had any problems going that route.
Well see how my credit card dispute come out! At least they will have to wait for their money for the shoddy and deceptive business practices!
