I had the most horrible experience with Expedia. I have used them in the past for hotels and have had no problem. This time was different. First they messed up the rental car. Not really that big of deal. Then, when I had drove 14 hours and was ready to check into the hotel, I had found out oops we don’t have that room available. Expedia just left the availability part out when it came to the hotel room. So the hotel was more than willing to work with me. They offered to put me in another room. One catch, they couldn’t bill me for that room though because it was different then what Expedia had down! Did you know that Expedia bills you and then the hotel bills Expedia??? So you are never actually paying the hotel. If Expedia messes up oh well! I had to get on the phone with them two or three times and wait forever. Then, when I actually got to talk to someone, they treated me like I did something wrong. Finally, when they changed the reservation so the hotel could book me, they tried to tell me there were charges for changing my reservation!! I wasn’t gonna pay for their mistake. So they told me, after arguing over a few minutes, that they would credit my account. They said it will take up to 30 days to credit my card!! All I have to say is plan on calling them at the end of the thirty days. Make sure your money is there. I will never use Expedia again. I tell everyone to go directly through the hotel or car rental company. No third parties that way and much MUCH better customer service.
