Have used Expedia for several years now. Have booked a total of ten flights, at a cost of around $8,000.
Until now Ive never made a mistake on their web site, and
havent
needed customer service for any reason. That is until now.
This week I was getting a round trip to Manchester , England as
a present for my oldest daughter. The trip Phoenix, Chicago,
Manchester and return. While booking the return flight a checked
the wrong flight. It will be Manchester, London,Chicago, Phoenix.
I tried to change it on the web site right away and couldnt.
I contacted customer support through the site, and got a computer generated return.
I called customer service, and got a less human response that the computer had given.
One more E-mail to customer service and got the we cant do anything, thanks for being a customer.
This ticket is bought 5 months in advance, a phone call to the
right people could solve this problem, I know, I was in the airline
support business for 18 years, and I saw the agents upstairs do
some&; wonderful things to solve problems.&; This is a business
that; routinely give flight to travel agents, just so thay know something about the destination.
This is a change that would save my daughter time, and save the
airline money. Ive even offered to pay a reasonable amount for
the change, but Expedia , well you might as well yell at a
tree. Theres nobody there that can make a decision, To read me a
computer screen, I hope their not payed a dime above minimum
wage. You could hire prison labor, to sit at a desk and
dish out this garbage.
Always been a good low cost porthole, but if you ever make a
mistake, forget it. In the future Ill pay a little extra for
honest service. Good site, but customer service is worthless.
