I would like to add that not only did I have a bad experience with Expedia but I seem to be getting them back for it.
To be frank, unlike some of you I have not lost a really huge sum of money
but I had to stay in the wrong hotel in the wrong area for a night which was bad enough after a saga of a journey back from Morocco.
For a year and a half I awaited a promised refund from Expedia after a large number of fruitless and near-miss like emails and telephone call exchanges. No refund was processed for the cost of the hotel. It was after all missold with regards to the trades descriptions act.
I am now sueing their UK operation and the sum of money owed has now grown substantially in light of my costs and the court costs in addition. What is even more amusing is that Expedia were to slow to file a defence with regard to my claim which now means I am able and have, filed a county court judgement against them, which is for those not in the known a serious court ruling that goes against a companys report. Moreover, if I so wish I can ask the court to enforce the judgement and send in baliffs to seize goods totalling the amount they owe. This really could be a victory for the small man against the poor service of the big corporation.
