Pros:
Cheap
Cons:
no customer service whatsoever, agents lie

I ordered a ticket in March for a trip I was going to take in August through Expedia.com.  Everything went smooth, I got a good price.  However, last friday (a month before the trip) I find out
that one of my flights in the itinerary was cancelled.  Thus, now my itinerary was incomplete.  I called the customer service department, and was told that I would be charged the "change" fee (even though the airline cancelled the flight), and that expedia could not change anything, and that I had to contact the airline directly.  I called Lufthansa, and told them that I need to fix my itinerary since one of my flights was now non-existent, and they said that my booking agent must do it (and I agree).  So I call Expedia, and the agents keep on telling me that Lifthansa is teh one that has to re-schedule me.  Overall, I was thrown around from one company to the other for 7 straight hours.  Finally, I found an agent in Expedia who was willing to reschedule my trip, however since this was the weekend, he could not finalize it with the airline, gave me a claim #, and told me to call back on monday.

I called back on monday, and was given the same excuse ("You have to call the airline directly") by 3 agents.  Finally, a 4th agent said: "We don’t need to call the airline, I can change the itinerary right here."  And within 5 minutes I had a new itinerary.  However, now there was a problem.  I had the old paper tickets, and Expedia refused to re-issue me new ones, they used the "airline will do it" excuse, even though the airline told me specifically that my booking agency (expedia) must do it.

I had to drive down 2 hours to the airport to pick up my tickets, and even at that I had to beg the ticket agent to give me the tickets, because she also told me that the booking agency is the one responsible for new tickets.

Overall, if you book with expedia, you’re playing russian roulette.  If there are no changes, or issues, you’ll be happy.  But the moment a small issue arises, you’re on you’re own.

They outright lied to me, and refused to do their part as a booking agency to help me fix my itinerary.  I will never again do business with Expedia.com, and I advise all of you to stay away if you don’t want a nervous breakdown.
