It was a big chore in my house hold to boil and store drinking water.
That not only wasted a lot of my mom's time but also our LPG consumption was high due to that. We are a family of 5 and drink a lot of water so it was only reasonable to buy a water filter.
Now when you think of water filters, the first thing that comes to your mind is 'Aquaguard'.
The are one of the most trusted brands in India and market it very well.
You will not get it in any stores directly, you have to call Eureka forbes and one of their representatives will visits your home, check your water type in front of you and will suggest you the best filter model for your requirements.
We were going to order the more expensive RO+UV models which has water storage and auto cleaning facilities but the 'Paani ka doctor' said that it will only be wastage of money since RO isn't required in Mumbai as the water is already treated and soft here.
So we ordered the Compact module, they promptly delivered it and the installation was quickly done by them and free of charge.
The installation guy also put a nice over on it and attached a long pipe to it.
Now it is very easy to fill our water bottles and put them away in fridge. That is the only manual work required in the process.
First 2 services are free by the company, you have to pay some 600/- from 3rd visit onward. We got an extended maintenance contract done so no worries for a few years.
When the time comes, they call and visit on their own and exchange the filter with new ones.
Very nice service and all their people are well trained.
Cons:
Cannot work without running water
Needs electricity to work.
No water storage facility
Verdict: Get it without any doubt! Go for RO models only if your tap water is hard in nature!
