I traveled from Bangalore to Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi to Edinburgh in May via Etithad Airways. My baggage missed the connecting flight in Abu Dhabi and arrived after a couple of days.
The support staff at Edinburgh Airport was not at all helpful and couldn't answer any of my queries regarding the baggage. It was after more than 90 minutes that they informed me about the status(that the baggage is in Abu Dhabi). The Airlines refused to offer my any compensation for the basic essentials(undergarments, toiletries etc.) I had to buy in the 2 days. I will NEVER recommend Etithad Airways.
