Personally, I like to have a trademark smell from an expensive bottle, and Escape isn’t what I consider to be that expensive, but it’s definately my smell.
I’ve done the Chanel’s,
the Issey’s, the Georgio’s and a couple of Calvin’s, And Calvin’s fragrances are the one’s I keep coming back to. It stays on well, even at Eau de Parfum level, and it’s recogniseable (not that everyone sees that as a virtue). I like it, but I truly believe the choice of a fragrance is a very personal thing. I would certainly recommend it to anyone, but you have to try it yourself a few times before you take the plunge. I think it’s one of those fragrances that you can’t just put it on and accept it for a day - you either love it or hate it.
