I havet had a review in awhile due to the hectic schedule of a new semester and overabundance of debating tournament going on.
Anyway... I just came back from the tenth all asian debating championship which was held in Johor Bharu. We had about sixty teams competing from all over asia (i lost in the octofinals, thanks for asking :))

haha, no, this review isnt about the tourney, its about the hotel we stayed in, The Eden GArden Hotel of Johor Bharu.
First off, this hotel was located in the duty free area of Johor thus meaning... the debaters had a fun time getting drunk due to the cheap supply of liquor. Theres a duty free mall attached to the hotel where you can buy stuff for as about as cheap as it gets in Malaysia.
shopping there in a mustThen i really liked the build of the hotel. When you walk in to your rooms, you dont really feel like youre in a hotel, rather it has this open architecture somewhat that a mall would have. i really liked it.
erm... the hotel pool wouldnt merit a five stsr from me. its nice enough to swim in but the landscape could have definately been better. one thing that i like about hotels is if they have a really nice swimming pool.
hotel pools are not suppose to be alympic size concretes plunked into the floor. it has to be tastefully decorated and nioce to look at. a pool is a place to relax and unwind.
Eden Gardens pool isnt thatall in all, this hotel is probably worth skipping.
its really near to the singapore johor causeway, but the view from the hotel is anything but desireable.
i find the music played at the cafe downstairs
downright annoyingsome of the toilets there would remind you of the capitals public toilets...
read stinky and dirty.
and this is a hotel mind you! not a marketplace===========================================================
